I'm not going to be able to make it, gents - I'll be in PA, moving furniture.  I won't make it back in time to rest up and head out to Hagerstown.  I'm sorry Chuck, I know I said I'd be there.

ok i will call Mr John tomorrow at work and get the schedule all ironed out. sorry i haven't gotten it done yet, I'm the only one working this summer so I have 0 down time.

displays
wear garb/armour
fighting demo
talk to public when they walk up to our area
walk in w/ John Parker (key note speaker of the night and host)

need to get who is going to be there so i can give them numbers for food. women's are welcome.

Sir Wolf:
About this part I’ve highlighted in red, does John Parker want use to escort him into the banquet in our full armor sort of like a color guard?

Also will they be able to provide us with a couple of fold up tables with table cloths for our displays?

Sir Edward:
If we are going to escort Mr. Parker in our full armor then we could perhaps do both blossfechten in armor with our fencing masks then switch to our helms and do harnischfechten?

OK, we're getting down to the wire. We'll need to know the address, what sort of venue, etc. How much space will we have to work with?

Possibly. The armor makes blossfechten really strange, in how it limits how you move and so forth. We might have to pick one, or change gear with a break between demos or something.

Well, we have all week to think about it. :)

...Clarion Hotel and Hager Hall Conference Center, 901 Dual Hwy, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740 set up at 530. starts at 6 PM ends after dinner, meeting ends at 9pm.

Sir Wolf provided those particulars in an earlier post, however we do need to ensure they do not reserve our fighting space under one of those chandeliers! http://www.clarionhagerstown.com/meeting-capacity.htm  ;)

Very true! We’d need at least 20 – 30 minutes for a change. Perhaps do the Q&A and blossfechten before the dinner, then armor up and do the harnischfechten midway into the dinner and the speechifying?

I'm assuming he's coming in prior to everything starting or very early on? If so, I should be armored up by then, and you guys could be in blossfechten gear w/swords and such? Joint escort sort of thing?

I'm thinking if we have time, and you guys are up for it, we could do a two-part show. Blossfechten before dinner, have dinner and time to cool down, then after dinner, do a presentation on armoring up. That'll get you guys in armor, keep entertaining people, and Chuck and I can help w/that and talk while getting ready. Then after that, you guys can do the harnessfechten demo.

I'm just not feeling up for combat. :( It'll be 5 days until we leave for Days of Knights; I've got stuff I'm still building, tweaks to make on my armor, and some clothing repair too. I don't want to risk injury right before the event, both from a cost and "get things finished" perspective. :)

That has a lot of possibilities! I would be up for it. How about you Sir Edward?

ok yes we will need to be in armour at the beginning. i am unsure about the total amount of time we will have but there is a lot of stuff the lions will have so we may not need to do any fighting at all.  i will call john again today. i am sorry i have had a hell of a time at work lately being by myself and trucks breaking down and not being able to be fixed.

i think we are like a escort, or color guard etc. more show for his "Knights of the Blind" etc

but we do get to eat well ;)

Well if it turns out to be a straight up armored gig and they still want a bit of fighting, then we could just do some harnischfechten. I’ll bring both my great helm and bascinet.

So just to be clear: I won’t have to rehearse a modified introduction since we won’t be doing a full blown longsword demonstration?

OK, then yeah, some clarification on whether we're fighting or not will help out a lot. It might determine which kit I wear. I'm up for escorting and looking pretty, if that's what we're needed for. :)

I'll get all my gear ready in any case.

If the event starts at 6, we might want to aim to be there at 5, since armor alone can take 30+ minutes sometimes.

OK great. So maybe what we might do is just a little bit of light harnessfechten? Kinda explain how it works, and do a few exchanges? But otherwise just look pretty. :)

Additional Question:

My wife -might- be available on Saturday, so we were wondering if people are bringing wives, etc, and what the food availability is.

I think she's unlikely to be able to go, but the question was raised.
