Eh?  Using the Black Prince Great Helm as an example, excellent choice!  Yep, Helm mantles are easy to set on a great helm and its period accurate. 

I am keen to do the same with my 1340 Harness (my real hard kit).  Using a GDFB Pembridge Great Helm, and with Fuhlen Designs, awesomeness is bound to happen.
