New Newly Tailored Coif
« on: 2012-01-11, 04:53:14 »
Hello all, here are the further modifications I have made to my coif.
I have changed it to have a Ventaille, that it might retain the tight fit to the head, and yet be able to be pulled back around the neck.

Enjoy!

Thanks Good Sirs! I was super glad I actually got that superclose fit you see in 13th century depictions of the coif AND the ability to pull it back! Now I won't look like such a dork W/o a helm as of yet  ;)

Excellent choice! Very cool helm and a very good price as well. 14g will be a little on the heavy side but excellent protection. :)

Thank You! I plan to paint it to correspond with my Heraldic Surcoat. I'll probably be aquiring it over summer.
And I don't mind heavy that much really. In period knights only really donned their helm right before battle, so I can be historic and not wear it all the time. Plus I got a nicely tailored coif underneath to show off!  ;)

Great choice!  You really don't see too many of these.

Can't wait to see it all painted up! I love those early great-helms... and we don't see people painting their helms up often enough.
