My armor light Kit
« on: 2011-08-25, 22:50:35 »
Here are some pictures of my armor light kit. A slightly improved and final variation of what some of you have already seen me wear after the knighting ceremonies @ VARF's last day. The surcoat I wore earlier that day will now be part of this 'armor-light' kit and the linen surcoat will be worn with my bascinet and aventail while the newest surcoat will be worn with the great helm.  :)

Without the maille, spaulders, vambraces and gorget which all together runs approximately 30 pounds it most certainly is! ;)

Nice! And still looking (mostly) fully-armoured to the untrained eye  ;)

I thought it looked great. Sorry I didn't have more time to chat, you caught me at a bad time for that. It was nice to see you again though, I hope you make it back at some point this season.

My apologies as well about not getting to talk longer with you which I attribute to the downside of going to faire with a crowd as it wasn't until later that I was able to leave the wife happily shopping and seek you out. Your buff coat looked even better IRL than the pictures you posted! I will definitely have to consider expanding into some later periods! :)

The light kit looks great! It's nice to have an alternative to wearing the whole thing. :)

Nicely done Sir Brian!  I love the axe; do you have additional eye candy photographs?

I bet! I have plans for a similar, but completely different (ummmm) idea for light armor days. The light kit looks great!

I'm afraid not Lord Rodney, those were the best ones out of the bunch.  ;)

Very nice Sir Brian, It`s always a good idea to have a lighter armour kit. Where did you get the maile sabatons from??

@ Sir Gerard:
I got mine from GDFB and here is a link to the original discussion in which Lord Rodney graciously provided some links to some of the vendors that sell them.  :)
