Last night I started breaking down an old pair of truly horrendous maille gauntlets I purchased a couple of years ago and “forgot” about in the back of my garb closet. I spent a few hours making a very rough one with only the prospect of spending an additional 6 – 8 hours completing a set that would still not even come close to these.  :-\


For the price of approximately $33.00 before shipping I think I’ll save myself the eye and finger strain!  ;)

hey wow. they need a piece of leather that goes around the outside edge to draw them in.

who is selling them for 33 bucks?

Nice find!

They're made by ULF and the part number is ULF-BMSZ-SB.  I can only find European distributors as my googlefu is weak this morning.  Is there an ULF distributor on this side on the pond?

i bet you could contact KOA or Therion about this item. i mean they carry other GDFB stuff so they might be able to special order it for you.  be worth the email!!!

Yeah I noticed they need a bit of lacing on the outer edge, but definitely doable!  ;)

The price is actually $29.15 before shipping; shipment from UK is $33.23!  :o
For a total cost of $62.40 which really is reasonable IMO.

Unfortunately none that I’ve been able to find. I checked KOA but no joy there. They might special order them but I didn’t inquire. Depending on what the response is from the GDFB folks in the UK I might order them this morning.

Most definitely! But I am under a time constraint at this point but it would definitely be well worth inquiring about if someone else is considering on getting a pair! :)

I should be getting them in a couple of weeks. If you aren't in a mad rush for them I am sure you
could inquire KOA or TherionArms if they could start carrying them. They look really sweet and

Well if you wish Sir Ulrich I could send you my abandoned butted gauntlets/sabatons along with several angled pictures of the GDFB ones when I get them to use as a reference. Riveted would last longer but butted would at least give you a good practice run on figuring how to lay it out. :)

Yeah it would give me an idea of how to arrange the rings and whatnot. I don't know any other place other than Icefalcon that sells riveted chausses and I am planning on making my own eventually as the rings offered by GDFB are fairly inexpensive and I got plenty of freetime to do so.
