Well we are a week away from opening day and I have several concerns vexing me.
.) With all the new changes going on at MDRF this year I am concerned those of us with the 'Maryland Special' swords may not be allowed to have them.
.) Although VARF was very gracious to our order I am not as confident of MDRF being so, thus I do not intend to bring any of the ‘Honorary Page’ certificates for the kids. I do not think MDRF will be as accommodating.
.) The weather forecast thus far looks promising for both days so I will be wearing full armor on Saturday at least and perhaps armor ‘light’ on Sunday.
.) I’m hoping I will get my newest surcoat in time to wear with my great helm on Saturday, if it isn’t ready then I’ll have to go with the bascinet which needs cleaning and will need to be added to my ‘TO DO’ list for this week that is already pretty full with yard work (if it ever stops raining), sword practice, a final surcoat fitting and thrice daily wound cleaning for one of my ‘feral’ cats makes for a very hectic week!
