Wow, that's looking really wild! The new colors look great. Can't wait to see it in person. :)

Nice!

What is that thing on the front of your helm?

A leather mask which is attached via strategically placed earth magnets that is glued onto the mask. They keep the mask securely in place but will still allow a bit of adjustment if the mask occasionally shifts and obscures my vision whenever I close the visor.

Whoa, that's wild stuff right there- the mask I mean.  I like it.  Been thinking of getting a lion-crest helm done...would be uber expensive.

Hey- that looks like the helm that Colin wore in Alexander...and I want something similar, but w/out the plumage...and I was thinking of a falling buff-style helm so the lion's mouth opens and closes.  And the lion's mane would be a little larger, almost like the image of Aslan (but I'm not trying to evoke him, mind you).

Wouldn't that be cool?  If I ever hit the lottery...or actually GET my tax returns back this year (the IRS is made up of THIEVES I tell you)!!!

Here is another, although it is made of leather and looks more wolfish IMO! ;)

That does look more like a wolf but you got the gist of it...I kinda like that.  Where's it from?  Maybe I could strap that to a round helm (secret helm) or something.  It'd be a good deal cheaper than a hammered version.

Sorry I just did a google image search. At least you know it can be done fairly well and could be a guideline to some other master craftsman. It's been my experience that the truly gifted craftsman/woman relishes a challenge!  ;)

I think we need to make a new poster image in photoshop. Several of the pictures look good in that they don't have harsh shadows. Is there one you particularly like? If I can, I'd like to get a really high-resolution copy to work from.

You can send me big files here:

I really like the look Sir Brian, are you going fantasy this year? No matter really, as armor was custom it was also not unusual to have symbolic headresses in tournament so it goes nicely.  :)
