The tan of the facing leather allows for pretty good adhesion for acrylic spray paints and brush paints, which is what the wife uses ( Krylon for base color, Testors Model Masters paints for all the hand painting ).

Have you used it before? I'm curious how it holds up and looks.

My shield got here today. I'm not sure how to adequately describe it. It's not what I expected, yet, it is.

Every piece I've got from Allan so far has been great. So, I expected great. What I actually got, was beyond what I expected.

The metal trim bits, the two-style hand straps - I had no idea it would have those things. It's fan-flippin-tastic. SUPER happy with it! And the coat of arms turned out awesome too. Allan, as always, thanks for a wonderful product, and please tell your wife great job with the painting and thank you for doing it!

That looks nice and the straps are adjustable which is cool. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a coat of arms painted on mine as well. Though I was thinking a simple cross could do it fine for me, I actually have a family coat of arms thats German in origins, been considering using that. How much does painting it cost?

That looks awesome. You hit the nail on the head with you're description of the shield and the craftsmanship. I am super happy I decided to jump in on this and didn't miss out. I only wish now I had saved up and picked up some of the armor I wanted like the Almain Collar.

Let me just come right out and say it- I saw Sir James' shield yesterday and was flabbergasted, it was an absolute marvel.  The shield was strapped to allow for two kinds of carrying, in addition to a guige strap- that thing was so pretty!

Allan, you and your wife really outdid yourselves, I'm "Sir Brian" with envy!  lol

Very well done.

Mine arrived today, I am quite impressed and happy with it, it's basically the same size as my old one only wider a bit. I like how the straps are adjustable and the feel of it's more comfortable than my old one as I can grip it bare handed, the back strap isnt too large and fits me quite well. Now just to find an artist willing to paint it for me and to figure out what to paint on it, I'm thinking a simple cross but I already have a shield with that on it. Pics will be posted as soon as my cam charges.

As promised there are pics, quite impressed with the quality as I said. If you were still in business I probably would order plate armor and whatnot from you as I like the hand crafted appeal to to it.
