Excellent picture! Do you have a higher-resolution version? I can still work with that, it's just a little easier to get everything to look right when you use really high res, like right off the camera at 3000 pixels on the long edge or something.

I won't have time over the weekend, but I'll resume next week.

Nice stuff, we should make a photo of all of our order members sitting at a table with our swords in front of us. Like a King Arthur round table sorta deal, but we'd have to do that at some kind of get together I think...

i think what would have to happen is all of us take a picture of us sitting in a chair at a certain distance away. it would all have to be the same etc and lighting. that way Sir Edward could have us sitting behind a round table etc.  be cool to have him standing since he is the knight commander etc like he's addressing us hehehe

Wow, yeah, getting the angles right would be hardest part of getting everyone to coordinate remotely to do a round-table picture. Everyone would need to get their protractors out and measure out the distance and angle of the chair, and camera height on a tripod, as well as the elevation angle of the camera. Tricky.

Excellent. How are the weight restrictions on baggage on overseas flights? I hadn't considered flying with armor as a cost-effective alternative.

All depends on the airline, in 06 British air let us take 50 pounds each so maille, helmet, sword, and shield plus reenactment clothing came in just under 50 pounds

Yeah, that's part of my problem. I don't pack light. I can hit 50 pounds just with my regular packing, without adding armor.

My plan is to mail my armor to the place I'm staying at in England a day or two before we leave, and hope that it arrives a day or two after we arrive. I'll have to see the estimated shipping time and plan accordingly. The first couple days will be Buckingham, etc, so I won't need any gear for that - I hope.

Great job on the pictures! I haven't updated since Photoshop 7, and it looks like there's lots of neat new stuff. Once my rivited loose rings from IceFalcon get here, I can finish the rest of my gear and get a decent photo. Really cool!

Yep, I closed the cafepress shop before they started charging me for it. It was a trial premium shop. I can re-create it, of course, but I didn't want to start getting charged for it before I had anything more than a single poster in it.

OK, I worked out Sir William's. I decided to try a glowing "paladin" sword blade again. I made it pretty bright this time, but I think it works.

Sir William is standing inside the southern part of the Barbican of my favourite castle, Beaumaris, in front of the "Torre sud-ovest" (South west tower) behind on the left, and the "Porta a Mere" ( gate next the sea) almost directly behind him.
