My brother and I had these. I think I had the gold knight and he had the silver. They were really cool in that you could actually remove the armor. *sigh* they sure don't make them like that anymore.  :(

I remember Jonny Quest but I don't recall the action figures...pretty cool man.  I love nostalgic stuff...as I've gotten older, I find myself reminiscing about the good ole days, often and fondly.

Wow cool. Yeah, the 12" action figures have more or less gone extinct, after Star Wars and GI-Joe brought in the 3+3/4" size. I'm wondering what influenced the change the most. Probably cost.

I'm betting it was easier to make vehicles for 3+3/4 figs.  Could you imagine how big the Millenium Falcon toy would have been otherwise?

You say that like it would've been a bad thing.  :)

Here is a picture of the gold knight I had and a link to the horse you could get with him which my brother and I also had. I'm getting seriously tempted now to buy both of them to indulge my nostalgic whim.  :P

Do it, Sir Brian!  Nothing like a little bit of nostalgia to bring on the warm and fuzzies...isn't it funny?  Even the worst parts of life get a little glossing over as time goes by...

I think its super cool that those figures had horses too!  Reminds me of the 'horse armor controversy' that the makers of Oblivion had to deal with.  They had an online store where you could buy downloadable content, one of which was horse armor for your character's horses.  The big stink was that they actually charged for what was basically a cosmetic overlay and not much else.

You see, in Oblivion you never actually got to fight from horseback, making the armor unnecessary...but it looked cool.  Most players felt it should've been a free addition seeing as it added nothing to the gameplay.

lol! I don't usually paint my toys. :)   (excepting of course all those D&D and Warhammer figurines I had)

I did something similar a few years ago-- I bought a few of the GI-Joe and Transformers toys I used to have that had gone missing over the years. I may have overdone it a little, but you know how it is... if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing. :)

As for charging for cosmetic upgrades in online games, that's actually becoming quite standard. Star Trek Online does that, among others. In fact, the argument is that usually the for-money upgrades should be cosmetic only, so that no one can just buy an unfair advantage in the game. People shell out a lot of money for bling, so it's lucrative for the game makers.

Hmm...never thought of it like that- buying an unfair advantage.  I could see how that would be an issue in a MMO.  I know in Oblivion most of the upgrades were better weapons, armor and spells (I think)...I guess the big deal was that they expected it to do more?  I dunno.

It also depends on which payment model the game uses. The cosmetic-only upgrades are usually in games that have a monthly subscription fee. If the game is free to play, then usually there are for-purchase enhancements that are all game-changing advantages. But since that's how they make their money, they have to make sure there's a steady stream of cash flowing in from players wanting to be competitive. So it depends a lot on what model they're following.

We've already gone beyond what I know about it...I generally don't play online at all.  All of my gaming systems are offline...guess that means I need to knuckle up and get that wireless router and receiver.  LOL

Some of my friends have been trying really hard to get me online since Black Ops came out?  Anyone else play Call of Duty?  Well, I played it online with some friends over the weekend at their house...its pretty sick.
