R2-Droid project
« on: 2008-03-26, 20:27:57 »

I've actually started, after sitting on a pile of parts for months.

As with all my projects, I fully expect to work on it furiously some weeks, and not at all other months. :)

I don't know what's more sick, that you're building an R2 unit, or that I'm totally jealous of it. :)

Well, I've been making some progress. Still a long way to go, but I want to have it up on some sort of wheels by the end of February if I can.

lol, he's not going to be that helpful in the long-run... He's not a party droid. :)

Well, I'm on a roll... I started installing some of the lights:

Feet aren't actually attached yet, but I figured I'd post this picture since it's the first time he's standing correctly. :)

You know, that's not a bad idea. I'm taking him to a convention in a few weeks, and it's unlikely that I'll have worked on the skins yet. I should find a plastic leaf or something. That would be funny. :)

Unfortunately that's not going to happen. :) The HPs are more like little spotlights. They don't have any sort of focus or anything.

Cool, please do. :)

I posted another one tonight:

I'm hoping the drive belts come in this week, and are the right size. I'm trying really hard to make him "functional" for the convention I'm going to in a few weeks. He won't be anywhere near "done" though.
