Three years ago I went as a Viking; last year and this year I am going as a zombie, this year I have better makeup.

Here is my haunt so far; everything will not be out until Saturday: http://s728.photobucket.com/albums/ww284/Flonzy/Halloween2011/Graveyard/Day6/

I am moving actually. I have to be out by Monday and I've yet to get most of the bits packed.

When a coworker asked me if I'm decorating the house for Halloween last week, I replied "no, I just stop cleaning cobwebs and stop killing spiders in August. By Halloween, it's decorated itself." We're gone either with my parents or to take the nieces/nephew, and we don't live in a subdivision, so nobody would really see it.

Sir James Baker and Sir Edward have some impressive displays. I made first contact with Sir Edward based on his halloween display; he lives on the same street as my best friend, who said "there's one of your people on my street, I can see a shield and swords on his wall through the window". :D

"There's one of your people on my street," - that had me cracking up; I'm that guy for my neighborhood.  One guy made a comment because he saw I was bearing a sword at my hip while I was out for a smoke break on my deck.  I do it pretty much every time I step foot out on the deck, just because I can.

Halloween is a pretty big deal to me, unfortunately this year I've got nothing to do... my squadron is having a function tomorrow but it's not Halloween related, doh!  Anyway, here's my favorite costume from a few years ago that I did... foam latex, and my attempt at makeup:

Here's my costume from last year, this is a silicone mask from Composite Effects and matching gloves

Holy crap, that's awesome! Do you make your own latex appliances or did you get it somewhere? Those turned out GREAT!

Thanks!  The appliances are purchased, they just come uncolored.  They're basically a light flesh color when they arrive.  I just did the makeup and blood on it.  The 'grave dust' on my suit is just baby powder.  So I suppose I was a nice smelling zombie, haha.  You just apply with spirit gum and hide the edges with liquid latex.  Getting it off is a nightmare though, that's why I switched to the silicone mask last year.

The vampire creature on the bottom was all professionally painted by the company that makes the silicone masks/gloves.  They will do custom paint on request for all of their masks and gloves too.  The cool thing about silicone masks is they move with your facial expressions, it's not just static like a normal mask would be.  It's not as expressive as foam latex, but it's 0 maintenance, and always looks brand new.  And at the end of the night when you're tired, you just take it off, you don't have to apply chemical to your face to release spirit gum and scrub your face raw to get makeup off.

Nice job on those costumes! I will be out and about in Armour. My town is doing it on Monday. I will try to get some pictures.

First round of pictures of my display are up. I'll be changing some things tonight, so I'll take more. But it's a start:

Tonight is the big night, all the moving parts are deployed and the fog machines are ready at a flip of the switch.
