My wife and made it this year...having missed it last year due to scheduling conflicts (some of my armor pieces didn't come in til late if I recall correctly) I was pretty excited about this year.  Here's another Templar I ran into- no idea who he was but it was nice meeting him just the same.

Aggh...how I hate empty scabbards!

And I believe I met both Sir Brian and Sir Edward that same day...you can just make out part of Sir Edward's blue ensemble (and face) on the right there.  Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Yep, that's me over on the right. My only day out with my Elizabethan nobles so far (made by my soon-to-be sister-in-law).

I think I've crossed paths with the other Templar before as well, though I don't think I've spoken to him. I think Sir Brian said he gave him a card for the forum though.

You are correct on both counts Paladin! Again I would like to compliment you upon your fine harness! I hope we will get a chance to converse again this season at MDRF!  :)

Wish I could have been there to see that amazing Templar kit. I wasn't aware that you did a Teutonic Knight Sir Brian. That is very cool. Once I get my kit together, sometime in the near future I hope, we'll have to go Crusading together ;)

Definately! I will probably completely retire the visored sugarloaf helm I usually wear with my teutonic kit and use my new bascinet instead.  ;)

Sir Brian, I look forward to it!  I know I'll be going at least twice more this season...gonna try and work in a PARF weekend too while I'm at it.  But seriously...I almost can't wait til NEXT year; building a late 14th early 15th kit w/a persona to match...just gotta work out the little details.

By the by...I notice you guys have some really nice gear, from the surcoats to the shields...can you share who makes'm?

Certainly!  :)

I had my surcoat custom made by “House Morningstar” @ http://www.housemorningstar.com/home.html

It was a tad expensive but it is very durable and has endured frequent machine washings. I applied the charges on the surcoat using fabric paint and stencils. The shield is the inexpensive wooden shield from Kult of Athena. I had a friend I work with paint the shield and I stenciled the charges with the same stencils I used on the surcoat.

I have a new shield on order from Allan which will be getting a slightly different paint job but the same, if larger sized charges and I intend to make a new surcoat for next season.  ;)

House Morningstar...I might have known.  They did one up for me years ago for an earlier knight persona; their wares are definitely durable, think I've had mine for about 8 years now, like new almost.  Fabric paint is like magic...I just knew those were high quality embroidered appliques on your surcoat; you did it yourself, that rocks man.

Wow, 60's and cloudy? That's fantastic. Yep, I can armor up on Sunday. I just need to decide if I want to armor up on Saturday too, or break out some of the other garb (nobles perhaps?).

Yep, I'm still on for the 16th too.

LOL @ tin man reference

No doubt...but that's part of the fun of it, no?  Cleaning the armor's no fun usually...
