Thanks for sharing...I wish we could organize a medieval tournament like what was described.  Of course, the cash outlay would probably be considerable....tell you guys what, if I ever win the lottery, I'll stage one- complete with the lists, castle, stables, the whole nine yards!

That goes w/out saying...my wife's not completely sold on the idea of a castle as our permanent residence so...it would just have to be a place where us lords can lord it about, no?  We hit the lottery a castle is in our future, that's it.  lol

I have the land for it. just not the cash. still I think a spring event of just us camping out and have Das Bill or Sir Edward teaching us sword techniques would rock. have a feast and a hunt for the white stag (fake deer)

But yeah, we haven't had a medieval camping event in quite some time. It could be fun!

Sir Wolf, a sword buddy of mine had just purchased some land in East PA a while back and was talking about organizing a similar event...then I got word that he's made the transition to guns.  lol

No, not recently. Actually I was poking fun at one of the Chretien de Troyes stories that Sir Wolf and I had both read recently. Sir Erec (of King Arthur's court) gets caught up in a huge drama after a White Stag hunt, in which the winner of the hunt (King Arthur in this case) gets to kiss the most beautiful woman there. The knights are ready to kill each other over which of their ladies is the most beautiful. Sir Erec finds and weds Enide, who is so beautiful that there's simply no contest (and settles the debate), but then later he ends up hating her because she clues him in to people talking behind his back. They eventually settle things, but wow, what a strange story.

Huh...I've never heard that one.  Of course, I should read Chretien de Troyes, just never got around to getting a copy; sounds most interesting so its on my list of books to get.
