Excellent, it sounds like we'll have quite a party this weekend. Depending on the weather, I may armor up fully on saturday and then armor lightly on sunday.

Excellent news Sir Blackwolf! Looking forward to seeing you and your lovely lady at VARF!

I'll have to pass on wearing armor two days in a rows since we will be driving home after the faire Sunday.  :-\

Wow, looks like VARF is going to be a happening place this weekend.  Wish I could make it, but I have family obligations that are going to prevent it.  It doesn't look like I shall make VARF at all again this year.  I guess Midsummer Ren Faire the first weekend of June will be my opening Faire this year.

Sir Brian & Lady Rosemary, Sir Andrew & Lady Constance, Sir Edward,

It was a great pleasure seeing you all at VaRF, Sir Edward it was an Honour meeting you! Alas as our means of making a living is conducting Renaissance Faires, there are far too many demands on our time speaking with those who participate with us as well as those who have interest in doing so. Even at our own Faires we are quite busy during the day and it is but later in the evening that we have a moment to socialize around the fire.

To that end Dame Dagrny and I were thinking how nice it would be to be able to "visit" with all of you in a setting other than Faire. As we are all somewhat far flung about the region this would require some travelling, perhaps to "gatherings" in different areas. As for ourselves we have a large yard, a goodly size home and there are excellent lodgings nearby to facilitate such a gathering in our area. The only issue we have is when?  As we are in the midst of Faire Season there are few weekends unspoken for upon our calendar until October.

Now one thought is the Maryland Renaissance Festival, we have more free time there and should we all stay in the same hotel (dangerous thinking there!) there would be more time available, may we recommend the Comfort Inn & Conference Center in Bowie MD where we oft stay and is a reasonable distance from Faire?

By any road, tis offered as food for thought, we are not adverse to travel and do enjoy doing so on a regular basis. What are the thoughts of the group?

We are at your service,
Sir Blackwolf & Dame Dagrny
I am at your service,
Sir Blackwolf

I would personally love to attend a gathering of the sort being mentioned.  I am not sure that I would be able to do so once PaRF starts in Aug. as I am possibly going to be on cast with the Trayned Band.  Should that be the case, it would need to be either before then or after Oct.  In any case, I think the idea is a good one.

It was good times to see you and your Lady too, sir Blackwolf. We have been meeting outside of faire as of last season. In November, I usually do a slow braised beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner for Sir Brian, and Saturday, Lady Constance prepares a wonderful lasagna for a certain little mischievous faerie that we know. Since we only do 50lbs. or so, it turned into an after faire dinner with other guests. we too have a fair-sized home, but a big yard with outdoor deck, grill seating for about 14, hot tub, and archery range. We will more than likely do the same this year depending on my school and co-op schedule. We are always open to meeting with good folk over good food, ale, wine, or even water. I'll have to check with Sir Brian and see if that was the hotel Lady Constance and I stayed in last time. It sounds familiar.

Sir Andrew,

Ah good company, good food, and an archery range! What could be better? Oh I suppose the hot tub would be alright as well....lol! November would be nice, right now we only have a Girl Scout Program scheduled for the 13th. If permissible we would be most Honoured to attend!

By the way, your Gracious Lady did give me the armor stand plans for which I am most grateful, I am looking forward to making a couple for our armor, thank you!

Sir Blackwolf it was a great pleasure to see you and your lovely lady at VARF. I do apologize for my late reply on this topic but it has been a bit hectic getting caught up on the homefront as well as work!

That hotel you mentioned I believe is the very same that Sir Andrew and Lady Constance stayed at the year before last and yes it is about as close from the South as we are from the North of the MDRF. There are many great resturants we all can go to throughout the general area of the hotel as well as near the MDRF itself.

It was a great pleasure meeting you as well! I too must apologize for my late reply. I'm changing jobs, and spent the week training my replacement at the old one.

I had a great time this weekend, and just wish we had taken more time to interact. There will of course be more opportunities throughout the year.

You're most welcome, Sir Blackwolf. My stand serves me well and I will be assembling another one in the weeks to come for another set of harness I have. Yes, our little house has served a lot of folk extremely well, and we are gracious to have have such esteemed folk pass through our doors.... ;D

Anyone plan on attending the last day of VARF? Rosemary and I will be there although I won't be in armor @ 93 degrees with 70% humidity!   :P

It looks like I'm not making it this weekend. I'll probably spend some time down at Stonetower on Saturday, and Sunday I'm heading for a business trip.
