"It wasn't the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion -- these were the things that counted in a life. When you gave purely, the honor came in the giving, and that was honor enough."

So, proof on film that a longsword can cleave a helm! :)  LOL

"Sword of Lancelot"

Longsword portion of the fight begins at 15:20, and the helm-strike is at around 15:35.

You laugh, young Naythan and yet you have just viewed incontrovertible proof that it can be done.  ;)

I recently found a copy of this movie- a Chinese copy at that, on my bookshelf!

Ah, the dreaded shield throw. What a great way to open for the helmet cleaver.

That helmet cleave is like the Macenjewski Bible & Fist of the North Star together.

What have I been throwing mortshlags this whole time for? Now I can just hack at your helms!

Lol, might be possible with a Two Hander, but with a Longsword, Mortschlag will do just fine for me.\

On the other hand, why not ring the bell of a helmet and see what happens.  :P

I think the technique only works on people with split personalities.
