A non historic half kit (WIP)

This is my half plate kit in 16ga, purely non historic. the shoulders are huge, im going to have to remove one of the lower plates 
I dont have a gambeson, boots, or some sort of pants yet but im working on it.

Can anyone suggest a good set of sabatons/gauntlets that are in a "satin" finish?

Kult of Athena has some decent gauntlets for about $120 shipped. There is a GDFB set of Churburg gauntlets that are so-so in quality for around $100 too.

Sabatons are somewhat hard to find. Mad Matt makes a pair for $160, a few Ukraine guys do too but you'll have to deal with international customs.

My set is from Kiev, Ukraine. The shipping was terrible as it had to travel out of the then uprising in Ukraine and over to North America, and ultimately through Canada and into New York. It then sat in customs for a month. Why? cause 'merica.

Cult of Athena has some of the better looking gauntlets ive seen, thank you for recommending them.

I seem to have been wearing my gorget wrong this whole time. Ive had it over my breast/backplates with my pauldrons attached to it, and because of that, ive had a lot less functionality from them. My Gorget isn't traditionally shaped though, and im not sure as to how well it will seat under my other armor.

Where are you going with it? What are you trying to do with it? How good are your fabrication skills?

My fabrication skills are decent enough. The set is for blunted steel, a friend and I have been accumulating pieces for that sole purpose.
Our sets are SCA so far.

Fenrir, did you make your armor or did you acquire it from somewhere?  I ask because it looks familiar, like I've seen it before.  It looks alot like the early plate armor sets put out by Medieval Collectibles, for instance.

Hey if your going fantasy for a larp or something of the sort its perfect
If you don't have one already I'm thinking you should buy a helmet next because that's far more vulnerable than your feet/legs and hands

Although hands get hit a lot if you're hit there you wont die in the next two seconds

its fantasy full contact, we dont larp. I have a helmet and gauntlets that im waiting on, sabatons too.

Really cool kit then! God id love to do fantasy full contact the only reason I do larp when not historical full contact is my friends don't like being hit by steel lol
