Thoughts on a new suit of armor
« on: 2015-05-20, 04:17:50 »
:DSo I'm looking to buy my first full set of armor. I don't plan on wearing this armor, I just plan on using it as a decorative piece. What do you gentlemen/ladies think about this? :) http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/p-3131-armour-of-churburg.aspx

If you poke around more on the interwebs you'll find places selling the same Indian made suit for a good deal less like Kult Of Athena http://www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AB0072&name=Churburg+Suit+of+Armour.

That 'armor' should be melted down and sold for scrap.  :)

Now, now Sir Ian- he did say it was for decorative purposes only.  Not that I disagree.  ;)

Not to be a downer but I hate Medeivalcollectibles.

All they have given me is disappointment  :'(

I'd get it for my mobile pell, but that's it.

Heck my Windrose MTO helm cost half or more of that whole suit.
Fall down seven, get up eight.

Medieval collectibles is definitely a ripoff. They tend to not even have the armor they advertise in stock, and won't notify you of that unless you call them specifically. Their stuff is all "One size fits all." which equates more to "One size fits no one." They do sell some legitimate shields and whatnot, but I've found their stuff to be available from other folks at lower prices if I just shopped around long enough. I will admit all my Hoplite kit is from them. My muscle curiass was so big on me that I ended up just giving it away to a little boy to give him some historic inspiration.
