Ooooo Oooo look at me, chicks dig scars
« on: 2009-02-15, 15:22:40 »

i hope i linked it okay for people to see from my facebook.

gonna be one heck of a scar to use for reenacting.

a lil story though, i was on my Grandmothers roof looking for a leak. my cousin had a piece of aluminum steel around the flu hole. we set it aside and were looking around the flu. the wind picked up that piece of metal and flung it at my face. it was about 6-8 feet away and i was sitting on my knees. it hit me right in the nose (WHAM) i knew i had broken it with the crunch but couldn't tell by the bleeding how bad it looked till i got off the roof.  the Dr said the cut wasn't TOO bad (it didn't cut all the way threw to my sinuses)so they glued my nose back together. if it bleeds too much i gotta go back in for like 30+ stitches so i'm keeping the kids at bay hehehe.

OUCH! I am truly sorry for your injury! After seeing the picture of your injury
and the picture of your avatar wearing the norman helm, Rosemary asked me
why the nose guard of the helm didn't protect you which helped me realize that
there is a silver lining in all this...NOW you will be fully justified to wear armor
all the time!  ;)

Seriously I hope and pray you have a full recovery without any noticeable scarring.

Hah, this gives me an idea... you could open a business and call it Norman Roofing, or something along those lines. :)

gauntlet construction....

If this posted, you should be able to get a view of the finger gauntlets. I punched holes in
the finger "tab" ends, and in the finger tips before threading upholstery thread thru them.
Held so well I didn't need to rig the palm as I thought it would just be un-due stress on the fingers.
You can see holes for threading in the palm strap in case I try to do that at a later time.
The thumb also has a loose lace running around it, and fastened thru the palm strap just to keep
the thumb in position....

person as well as the rest of your new harness!  :)
