i believe its based on the 1275 model one found.

so who wants to help me with a crest, mantle  and surcoat colors? hehehe. think i want something simpe but says LOOK AT ME at the same time hehehe. might study the Maciejowski Bible Images for some good ideas.

That is a sweet helm!  :)

Are you going to stay with one of the military orders or do you want to go with a complete heraldry
of your own?
"Chivalry our Strength, Brotherhood our sword"

I still think you need to do the crest with the big wings that was in that book we looked at! Dude, at faire everyone would see you first. :)

Seriously, when we mentioned paper mache the other day, there's some merit to that idea. If done right, it can be sanded and painted, and made to look like other materials. Example-- my scarecrow's head:

It's cheap and easy. Diluted Elmer's glue and Viva brand paper towels and newspaper. I'm tempted to try it too.

BTW, here's the link to the product page for those who are interested:

I think it's a nice choice. We looked at a lot of options, and many of the cheaper ones available currently don't look good, or are too small, etc. A lot of the nicer ones cost twice what the MRL one does. So this seems like a good value in comparison. I like the look of it too. I'd be tempted to get it if I didn't already have my Valentine version. This looks like it'll be lighter too, since it's 18g. I think mine is 16g.
