Age of Empires- man does that bring back some good times memories!  Countless hours spent building, loved how you could alter a good many factors to tailor the experience.

The HD remake looks nice, fire is animated much nicer, battles look better... I may give it a go, even though I still have a few games on the shelf I haven't played.

Every now and again I'll fire up the ole gaming rig (really old) and have a go at AoE II: AoK - just for kicks.

OK, now here's a game I can say is pretty awesome so far.  Totally old-school CRPG, with turn-based combat and awesome narrative.  Shadowrun Returns.  It's a kickstarter of the old school shadowrun games.  Basically think fantasy races (humans, elves, dwarves, orks, trolls), but in a cyberpunk sci-fi setting with magic and hi-tech!

There's a campaign with it, and a full editor as well with tons of user created content.

I think I graduated from that...this is my current home PC background:

And my work PC has the interior of the 2013 Dodge Charger Daytona edition as the background.

There's a widescreen hack for it to run on "modern" PCs. I run it on my dual core machine, 1920x1200, no problems.

Steam sale this weekend on the Witcher franchise.

Witcher 2 Enhanced edition is only $5, that's the best money for value on a game ever!

By far the best traditional CRPG in the last decade, better than Dragon Age Origins (and that's saying a lot), and a hell of a lot better than the abomination console port DA 2.  You don't have to have played Witcher 1 to jump in to Witcher 2 either.
