I am thinking of getting the houdskull basci by GDFB and stripping the brass from it. Question: has anyone ever seen one from behind? Is the shape correct? I always see it from the dead-on front or a front angle. For the price it would be cool with a rivited aventail, methinks.

Greetings and hail, Tancred!
I have to say I for one haven't seen the helm you're thinking of.
I would try to have the armorer just leave off the brass embellishment.

i think this is one of my next helmets. so maybe around Christmas I will be able to order it. we'll see then ehhehe. check ebay Tanc, there are several people who sell it that have alt. pictures of the helm. it doesnt look too bad.  i would go with a medium if u have a 24 inch head.

Wolf, from what I have read medium is 23 in diameter and large 26. I will have to go bigger on this. I will then hit up Ice Falcon for a riveted aventail.

Have to agree Sir Wolf, sallets always seem to be a little different, but usually
a little larger than people expect. My sallet from Ice is Boss, yet if I wouldn't have
padded the crap out of it, it would split my nose on a head shot. It literally has
a "shelf" of steel! :(

I think this would great with a proper aventail:

If you get one, please do a review! I've been sorely tempted to get one and replace the aventail myself.
