Maryland 'Specials'

Sir William:
I heard that VA is issuing CCWs if you take their online course, you don't even need to be a resident to acquire one.  That'd cover VA anyways.

Sir Edward:

The CHP/CCW is needed for conceal carry in VA and WV, but open-carry is legal without the license. Generally concealing is better, since people tend to get stupid when they know there's a weapon nearby (as in, get uncomfortable for no good reason, sometimes calling the cops or trying to get you ejected from the restaurant or whatever). So having a permit is a good thing.

Sir William:
Never thought of it like that...my response to that would be 'who cares' but I can understand how that'd get old after the 50th time of someone pointing out that you have a holstered gun.

MD has that stupid law about carrying knives with blades of 3" or less so wearing a sword is OUT.

Sir James A:

HAH) a lot has to do with MD's carry laws of blades longer than 3.5? inches. that and MDRF has a lot of back log of drunks n weapons... and the owners are lawyers and do not want the hassle. MD is such a stupid state and i for one am glad i do not live in it anymore. but will respect it's laws when there... (thinking of getting my ccp Sir Edward hehehe)

I vaguely recall there being something about someone at the pub, who wanted more alcohol, and the 'bartender' cut them off, so the patron pulled a knife/sword on them - and no more after that.

It's a shame, especially considering the frequency that Sir Edward and Sir Brian go to MDRF, and their popularity there.

Now, about purchasing that faire....

Maybe that is their way of saying...work for the MDRF as "staff" (Sir Edward & Sir Brian) and then not worry about carrying your weapons.
