Hello, fellow knights. My name, or at least the one I go by, is Sir Sorbus.
About a year ago, I started out a secret order of knighthood called "The Order of New Chivalry", with a very similar goal as what I have seen in my brief skimming of this site; To restore a semblance of chivalry to a world much in need of it, and with the side-goal of also encouraging the true, romantic side of love that is so rare in the world today. In my order, I currently have 3 fellow knights, who I have advised to also register; They are Sir Alnus, Sir Fraxinata, and Lady Heather.
More recently, now that our order had gained a level of direction and strength, I started a more public branch on a Tumblr page, through which we hope to spread the good Samaritan spirit to the general public in the form of a slightly less traditional chivalry.
More on that here:
http://theorderofnewchivalry.tumblr.com/As an introduction on me personally: I am 17, Australian, and have lived here all my life. I am an Epee fencer, though admittedly still quite new at it. I am a Christian, though with some outlandish and unorthodox views, and I accept and and friends with others of all faiths and beliefs, despite not necessarily agreeing with their views. I am a university student, in my first year of a Nanotechnology degree, in the hopes of assisting in finding an end to all cancer. I hope to one day move to Holland, where some of my best friends and fellow knights are situated. I do not own any steel armour, or medieval style swords, but instead have my epee, as a slightly more practical and renaissance alternative. That being said, I would be very open to the idea of getting my own swords and armour, had I the money to spare (which I don't, being a full-time student). I LOVE fantasy, my favourite series being The Belgariad, and am a writer myself - though not published just yet. I also have Asperger's Syndrome, to which a lot of my mild obsessions, such as chivalry and fantasy, are attributed. I also love what little ancient Celtic heritage is still available to this day, and accordingly love trees and nature - often to the point of being called an Elf, due to my habit of spending time up trees. I think that about sums it up. I hope to get to know the rest of you well.
