Maille Coif Version 3.0
« on: 2012-05-19, 02:57:33 »
Here is my 3rd major overhaul to my coif. This time I've added a leather ventaille lining, 2 points to lace the ventaille to (for an earlier period, fuller face coverage option), leather edging, geeral re-shaping, and a lace system (to facilitate pulling back the coif).

Enjoy!  :)

And here's a set of photos shot from the same angle to show the steps in pulling the coif back.

1st- fully laced up coif.
2nd- ventaille unlaced
3rd- chin and nack lacing is unlaced
4th- coif is pulled back for comfort and the signature "armour hair" look  ;)

Thanks guys!  ;D

I really needed to do this project, as my aventaille left my chin blackened after 2+ hours of wearing. Also maille-to-skin contact sucks.  :P

BTW, Sir William this is really a quite simple project. If you'd like me to show you how sometime, I'd be glad to. I'll make sure to bring some spare leather to VARF  ;)

Lol, alright, I'll get it up. That's three I need to post about, the standard, sheild, and the coif.

Introducing the thread police!  LOL

Sounds good to me, Sir Nathan...definitely something for when I get that riveted coif.

I meant he should post a walkthrough of his tailoring process in the workshop area, not that he should post this thread in that section. :)
