Sir John, It looks like you're having a great time in those photos. Stage coaches, horses and a steam train? That sounds like a true film maker's playground! I wonder if we would have the time to make a short film with some of the members. It sounds like a very neat idea.

I just saw "The Wild Hunt" last night on Netflix. Very interesting, and sometimes awkward, movie. There were a few slightly confusing parts that made more sense later, and a few parts that never did make sense. The ending caught me *completely* by surprise. It was a great break from the normal cliche endings.

Sir James,

Well, a short movie about this organization is one idea, but a drama, like ones I have made would be fun and interesting. Once you see the movie I already made about knights, you'll get an idea. In undergrad school I made 4 movies (one was a trip to mars and another a moster movie, complete with frankenstein monster, hunhback and vampire). Then I made 4 more when I got married (One was an Indiana Jones type movie, and a pirate movie.)

I'm already thinking of an idea for such a film and have some unique ideas. Maybe later we could discuss this if the members are interested.

I'm slowly putting together ideas that I really like...I may bever get to the point of making it into a movies, as I need people for the cast, but it's fun doing the research and coming up with ideas, etc.

I figured as much...Hollywood will always get its way, no?  The changes made (I have read the synopsis of the movie a few times so I know what to expect) don't take away from the novel imho, but I will reserve commentary until after I've viewed it.  Kinda excited, I am.

Well, I saw the movie, twice.  I wish I had seen it first, THEN read the book...I would've come away twice as happy.  Still...the movie was pretty good; I'm guessing due to budget constraints they couldn't do justice to the temporal aspects of the book so they turned it into a transporter-style (think Trek, not Jason Statham) time machine.

Also, certain of the characters' backgrounds were changed to suit the actors hired for the parts...Marek in particular; in the novels he is a Dutch professor of antiquity, skilled in horsemanship and sword, spoke French, Latin, Occitan and Middle English.  In the movie he's a Scot, and speaks only the Queen's English.  Minor quibbles, such as they are.

This Robin Hood, if you can find it, is the best one.

Err ??? no it's not. It may be similar to RH:PoT (cause hey, Robin likes to rob corrupt Norman Abbots) but it's this film I remember. Especially the knife to the jolly's that Robin does in the Church.

Doh! I saw the 1991 and it jumped at me as Prince of Thieves since that came out in 1991 too, and Men In Tights was after. I've never seen this one. Oops. :o

Obviously you must undertake a Quest to rectify this error. I foresee a need for popcorn, soda, and pizza as the necessary tools for this journey.  :)
