My Pikeman's armor
« on: 2011-08-15, 10:33:43 »
I finally got some pics of me in my Peascod breast and back and my buff coat. Unfortunately I was unable to upload them to my Knight page or here. The Knight page kept telling me they were the wrong file type, even though they are gif and they are too large to post in a regular post. I may try to reupload them today after work, the computer was giving me issues yesterday so I do not thing the fault lay with the website or server. Good news is that I did get them up to my FB page, I know a few of you have seen them there from the commets and the like clicks, but I wanted to post it here too. That way the rest can head over and take a peak. I also wanted to see what everyone thought of it, clicking like is nice but here I can get some feedback on how it looks.

I'll have to edit this post later to give my feedback since I can't access FB from work. ;)

Yeah, if you can resize the images a little and save them as JPG, that might work best.

Let's see it, Sir Matthew!  I can't access FB either...and don't yet have an account.

i saw them on your FB page.

what you have to do to link from there to here is:

make sure the file is availible to be viewed by everyone.

look at the pictures in the album (all at once view) now right click the picture you want to see and open in new window (this gets rid of that stupid FB viewer)

right click the picture again and click view image
now you should have a file name in top bar that ends in .jpg that you should be able to link or view. copy and paste the entire link.

The only problem with linking that way from facebook is that the links could change, and then they wouldn't show up on the forum. They'll probably work for a while though.

Another option is to upload them to a site like flickr or photobucket, which usually give you a copy-and-paste BBcode link to stick in your forum messages. Those should always work as long as you don't delete the photos.

Thanks for posting the pic for me. I was planning to try to upload one to my knight page tonight. I'm not sure what the problem was yesterday, my 'puter was just being stupid, it took me 2 hours to finally get them up on FB and they never did copy from my phone to the 'puter itself. I used to have a photobucket account, but I have long since lost the password and have not really done anything with it. I mostly used it to host some pics I linked to my myspace page, but since I only log in there like once every other month I didn't see the point to going to the effort of redoing my password there. Maybe I have to do that to share my pics other places now, though.

Nice, I like how the armor has an aged/blued appearance. Makes it look more authentic looking, when I get a few pieces of plate I'm probably going to do something similar. Also I like the helmet, it looks like a kettle helm quite a bit.

Nice, Matt...I like it!  Looks like me taking pics...I never know how to stand or what to 'do' with myself.  Others like Sirs Brian, Edward or Wolf seem to have the poses down pat.  :)

I harassed you on FB about it already, But I'll say it here too, looks wonderful! I wouldn't mind having you in my Tercio!  ;)

Looks good Matt! Only thing I can say is the pants should have the same length on each side. ;)

Haha, they do, but for some reason the left pant leg always seems to catch on something and hang up. I joke that it's my gang style since I live in the 'hood. Sir Nathan, it would be my honor to be in your Tercio, although we English don't use such a formation, we stick to the Pike and Shotte model.

Ahh, ok. So just wondering, what exact year or era does your group portray?
