Got around to taking a few pics of my recent activities.

The gonfalon, from Cillene @ AA (I need a medieval couch; project for a later time):

The assembled bookshelf. Only $29 at Wal-Mart, not exactly high quality by any means, but it's a dark colored faux wood, which is what I wanted. It has my dragon bookends (for when I have a bigger collection and bigger bookshelf), digital photo frame (loaded with approx 1,200 pics of armor :D), japanese sword cleaning and sharpening kits, archery bits, and my japanese/medieval european books collection.
(The mirror and skull are still awaiting their new position)

I bought all of the artwork unframed, and then bought the frames and framed them. It was very relaxing, I was pleasantly surprised. The artwork:

(The others are in 10 more pics, click here: http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t8/jba3/medieval/Artwork/

The above is 20 pictures at 11x17; I went with a mix of woodcuts, armor illustrations, knights and castles. They will be placed throughout the house, but I'm still working out where to put each of them.

In the album are the rest of them; a few more 11x17, some 13x19s, a pair of 24x36s, and a 24x32. You absolutely CANNOT have a collection of artwork without having "The Accolade" and "The Vigil". ;) I'll post a complete list later of the names of the photos, if anyone is interested.

Well done, Sir James, well done!  I need a bookshelf, thanks for the tip!  Is the back part sturdy, or just a plywood panel piece?

Ain't that the truth!? :) We have "The Accolade", "Meeting on the Turret Stairs", and "Godspeed" in poster-size, and "The Vigil" as a small 5x8 (I think) print.

Man, that's looking great. And to have the gonfalon bring the whole room together is fantastic!

Thank you, Sir William.

It's a ply-paper cardboardish piece that you get with most any of the DIY "furniture in a box" sets. However, it gives the piece a good bit of rigidity. You could use it as a template to cut a real piece of 1/4" plywood if needed, but I've never needed to, since the bookshelves I have were always backing to a wall.

Thank you, Sir Edward. I also acquired Godspeed, too. :) I'll have to get some pics of my "knickknacks" collection, too. My awesomely understanding wife lets me keep them in the china cabinet in the dining room, since we don't really have any good china and I don't know where to put a display case for them yet. :D

You can't tell from the pictures (room is too small to get a wide angle picture), but my harnesses flank the couch, the MRL gothic and samurai armor on one side, my old SCA kit and my brass trimmed 14th cent kit on the other. The bare stand next to the bookshelf is for whatever "kit #5" will be, once the other kits are "finished".
