Since I had the camera out to take a pic of my 14th Cent gear on the stand, I thought I'd snap a few quick shots of some Christmas presents slated for installation in my "medieval room", which will eventually have the display cases for the armors, swords, books, etc. I've got a whole china cabinet setup of medieval knick-knacks that I need to make a case for, too. It's going to be a busy summer, but in a good way. :)

Horned Dragon Skull by Design Toscano - this thing looks EPIC, very good quality
(http://www.designtoscano.com/product/code/CL4864.do)

Chateau St Roche Mirror by Design Toscano - good quality, may end up using it in the bathroom as functional, instead of just decor
(http://www.designtoscano.com/product/code/CL3427.do)

10.4" Digital Picture Frame - I've loaded it up with about 1,500 pictures of armor - accepts an SD card, so updating is easy

(no image)
Dragon Book Ends by Design Toscano - No picture since they arrived damaged, but they'll be guarding my collection of medieval books while I'm away. Replacements are on the way (backordered ~6 weeks)

Design Toscano has some neat exclusive items (gargoyles and dragons in particular), some items that will stop your heart when you see the price (some of the furniture), and some fantastic customer service - they apologized about the broken bookends, said they are on back order about 6 weeks, and to keep the broken ones too! (one wing tip is broken, paint flaked off part of the celtic circle, and a few other flaws - yet the box wasn't damaged at all)

Excellent! Yeah, I intend to fully decorate up the "man cave" when I get one (right now the whole (puny) house is a bachelor pad, so no separate room).

I don't think I have any photographs of my Medieval Man Cave before children came along.  Making it kid-safe really takes the Medieval and Man out of the Cave. :(

LOL, I can imagine. Everyone keeps telling me that if I had to child-proof my house, the easiest way would be to put up plexiglass walls in front of the real walls. Almost every wall on the first floor of my house has sharp objects on it.

Sir Edward, in your case that might be the most feasible solution to go with.  I've only seen pictures but if you and milady decide to have children, you're better off just covering every square inch of wall space just to be safe.  Alternatively, since we are brother knights, you could always store it at my place as my walls are quite bare.

Might be a problem with mylady, however.  lol

Sir James, looks like your summer's gonna be one full of FUN.

ya, the easiest way for us to childproof Sir Ed's house is to just leave the wife and kids home ;P hehhehehe

ya i dunno if i'll ever have a man cave again. not in my current house anyways. my office is now my son's room and i have a lil corner in the baement family room.

My kids don't live w/me and now they're so old, there's little chance of that happening.  When my youngest was initially coming, I hadn't touched the room at that point but when she changed her mind, that's when I got started.

Need to get rid of some things and add others...

Sir James, I get the Toscano catalog too and they do have some good looking stuff...but you're right, the price for some of their pieces seems outrageous to me.

If that is the case then I suggest Sir Edward that you take the contrary perspective to the problem and instead of child proofing the house, house proof the children by putting them in armor!  :D

A capital idea, Sir Brian!  Might as well get them used to the weight and feel of armor early...we need squires, Sir Edward!  lol

Well, if I were to do that, currently it would be in this form:

Oh yea, been saw that - but my cat wouldn't allow himself to be so encumbered.  Cool suit though.
