My new helmet
« on: 2015-01-05, 16:19:25 »
So, I have gotten one of my favorite helmets for my collection finally! It's a bassinet or "hound skull." It is made of 18 gauge steel and brass, so it's a good piece to show off. The visor doesn't unhinge though, which is a shame, but I got what I could afford, and i'm happy. I got it for 160$, and I feel that it was a good buy. I can't post a picture because of the file size, and I only have my phone to take pictures, but it doesn't allow me to change the file size to post it :/ Well, now to save up for my all time favorite, a sallet and bevor! :)
Edit: here is a link to a picture of the helm: http://imgur.com/mw7N97J

Congrats!  That's my favorite style of helmet.  If you'd like you can host your photo at places like Flickr or imgur or any of the others and include a link to share a photo of any size.

You can do that using the following code, just replace 'yourimagehostingserviceofchoice' with flickr or whatever you use, and yourimage.jpg with the rest of the url (and remove the quotes):

Nice! Congrats on the acquisition!

I really like the hound skulls, which is funny because at one point I thought they were uglier than the warts on a peasant's butt. They've grown on me a lot.

LOL

That's how I currently see them!  Still, it is a nice acquisition, Hancz.

I soon plan to get a maximillian helmet, and then soon after that, a custom houndskull, but with a un hingable blued visor. :) thank you all for your kind words :)
