Made a Viking Shield

Squire 1b (they are twins) wants to be a Viking at KCRF this year, so the two of us made him a shield (and I banged out a tunic and leg wraps on the wife's Singer). I dished and planished the boss (first attemp at metal working). Boss and handle are attached with clinch nails, as in period. Canvas faced and rawhide edged. Like Squire 1a's heater shield this is just a bit large right now, but he assures me he will grow into it.

Not 2b!! The first two are enough work!  On the other hand, it would be cool to roll into the faires with my own conroi!
