Scott, there's always the MD Renn Fest or VA Renn Fest. Both are friendly to armor, and both have hotels nearby. VA is in late May / early June, and MD starts in August and goes to late October. VA will allow peace-tied weapons; MD won't. However, MD is much bigger and much more to see and do. The best day is closing day of MD Renn Fest, because everyone heads to the joust field at 2pm for a group picture of everyone in armor - whether part of the Order or not. This was last year:



Sir William was absent from this specific picture, but was there for a bit, I just don't have a photo of him with the group handy. Of the 11 people pictured, 5 of us are from the Order.

This is Wonderful News!!!!
I can only go sundays this year(for reasons)
So I will now go on a sunday more happily knowing I will definitely be Seeing knights there.
I can almost confirm now that I will be going on that day.

I'll be there both days this weekend. The sword policy this year is the same as last year in that you must be able to pull the hilt from the scabbard to show the blade has been cut off leaving only 3"~ 4" of blade. They will check you several times as well!

I might be able to hit the MDRF the last weekend of October. I'll start checking schedules to see if things will click. If there will be other members of the order there that would be awesome. I do recall the MDRF from back when I lived in Maryland around the turn of the century, and it was pretty cool back then.

I'll be coming down to MDRF for Oct. 18, 19 weekend!!! :) Making my arrangements at present. If someone needs a place to crash, I'll have a nearby hotel for weekend stay.
