Made a shield
« on: 2014-06-20, 02:20:44 »
Me and Squire #1 just finished his first shield. Pressed it from 2 pieces of 1/4 inch plywood using Ye Olde Gaffers shield tutorial. It's still a bit large for him, but he swears he will grow into it. Wanted one JUST like Dad's.

EDIT:  canvas faced, felt backed, rawhide edging.

That is spectacular Sir Patrick!  He's lucky to have you for a Dad!  Is that rawhide on the edges too?

Yep!  We used the same construction and materials I used to make mine.  Said he wanted it fit for the knight he wanted to grow up to be  :)

Now that is quality parenting ... making medieval knick-knacks with the boys. Came out very well. :)

Ok, but I will be forced to end every PM between us with, "Who's your daddy?;)

Yeah it's great one-on-one, but it really throws off the family shield wall when the neighbors attack.

I'd have thought the neighbors would join you to fight against the HOA. :)
