Help! Need Rivets
« on: 2014-03-17, 21:26:22 »
I just bought a belt buckle from KoA and it didn't come with the necessary rivets to attach it to the belt. I'd buy them myself, but there aren't any brass rivets sold in my area and Tandy only sells them in a 100 pack for $20 at which point I might as well just buy a new belt. Is there anyone out there who has four brass rivets they'd be willing to part with? I need a functional belt for an upcoming event, so it would very much appreciated.

20 for a 100, Sounds like a steal.
Was it supposed to come with the rivets?
If so just call KoA

no it doesn't come with rivets. but I don't want to spend $20 + shipping  for 96 rivets that I won't use

As Sir James asked:

What diameter and shaft length?

If I have the correct size rivets, I’d be happy to send you a handful as well.

Do you have a picture or link to the belt buckle you purchased? The event you need it for wouldn't happen to be on April 6th would it? If so I can bring the rivets you need that day since the Order will be there early to set up.  :-\

I will in fact be at Medieval Day at CUA. The belt looks to be 1/8" thick and the holes about 1/8" in diameter.

I've also been looking for rivets and someone sent me to this source.  I have not ordered yet.  The price is excellent but no sure what they would charge for postage from the UK.

My tool box (including mini-anvil) also has a stock of various sized solid, quick and post-screw rivets so I'll be able to help you out with that the day of the event. ;)

Buy in bulk. If there isn't a comma in the quantity, you aren't trying. ;)

Yep, understood, just in case someone else finds the thread searching on rivets
