I am newcomer to not only the site but also European fighting as well. Because of that, I am at a loss on where to find armor. Any suggestions where?

Hi there! I guess the question is, what kind of armor? Are you looking at a particular time and place? A particular century or style that you are interested in?

Are you looking for more historical, or more for WMA/HEMA use? Or SCA? The answers can vary quite considerably.

If you want to purchase SCA approved armor, the specifications for heavy-list fighting can vary depending on the region you are fighting in (Or tournament). For some, each piece of armor must be a certain armor gauge (steel thickness) and have to meet certain criteria. Also,it depends on what kind of look you want. There is so much in varying styles, such as lamellar, scale, plate, maille, leather, and combinations of them all. Not to mention proper padding.

Where are you located? A good resource for SCA armor is wind rose armory...

It's where I get most of mine...but if you let me know where you are and what your persona is I can better tailor this for you.

Also talk to people on the Armour Archive, specifically the For Sale/Classified's section.

Where do you live?

I live in Ohio around bg. Also, if somebody knows of armor that runs big and long that would help. The gorget that I use from a loaner kit is a hack job of leather and spare armor.
