"It wasn't the reward that mattered or the recognition you might harvest. It was your depth of commitment, your quality of service, the product of your devotion -- these were the things that counted in a life. When you gave purely, the honor came in the giving, and that was honor enough."

I spoke with my scabbards, and they are uncomfortable having their backsides photographed.

Perhaps I can sneak some pictures later..

My wife got mad last time she caught me with the backside of my scabbard exposed. Guess I must exercise more prudence in who's company I unsheath my blade.  :P Photo ops are not doable in such circumstances. On a serious note, mine are all leather bound by ties in a criss-crossed pattern from tip to hilt.

I don't have any photos handy. I'll try to remember to take some. The ones I have from DBK have a spiral stitch, and the ones from CF have more of a glued seam or hidden stitch or something.

Yeah, my CF and Crusader Monk scabbards both seem to have a glued seem.  There's no visible stitching.  I will attempt to get some photos later this afternoon.

Here are a couple of pictures of mine and they appear to be glued.  :-\

Christian doesn't stitch his back seams?  Thank you...I did not know that.  CM doesn't bother, but for him its a cost-cutting timesaver.

Wolf, I'll snap a couple pics tonight...are you building one?

Yeah, I think all my CF scabbards are glued. I'll double-check and get some pictures.

What's hilarious is that of all the swords I have pictures of- not a single shot of the back seam on any of them!  lol

I guess that's not the part people want to look at, eh?  Thought I'd have one stuck somewhere...so I guess I'll have to take those pics after all.  ;)

My CF scabbard's backside looks identical to the blue scabbard Sir Ed posted above.

ok kewl thanks guys. looks like all glue and the stitched is there for cosmetics. well the blue one maybe more since it's a tighter weave.

thanks!

Which is more accurate?  CF backside looks very tight...not that CM doesn't, but on occasion the line isn't straight (mine sorta curves on one of my pieces) - and I did not take a pic, I am sorry Wolf!  However, mine look like the stitched one, brown, that Sir Edward posted.  I'm assuming its a DBK.
