Hello all,

I'm new to this site, and I was just wondering if there are any knights on this board who live close enough to frequent the Michigan Renaissance Festival. It, like many others, has a distinct lack of knights among the employees (beyond the jousters), so I like to do my part and pose for photos with kids and the like.

So, will I see any of you there this year?

Where in the state is it?

It's in Holly, MI. A little southwest of the center of the state.

They have a beautiful, permanent site with lots of period (or slightly fantasized) architecture.

here here

That's "hear, hear" :)

I haven't been there myself, but I'd like to one of these days. I also hear Bristol is very nice. But about the closest I've been in that direction as far as faires go, would be Sterling in NY, and the Pittsburgh PA faire.

It's a solid 500 mile trip for me, so alas, I don't think it will be possible. However, huzzah to you for making the faire a better place for the kids! And welcome to the forums.

I don't take too many photos myself while I'm there, but I'll be sure to start when I go this year, as i now have a kit I'm truly proud of. In the meantime, google image search "michigan renaissance festival" and you'll get some good results that feature the site (in the background, at least).
