« on: 2008-06-18, 20:47:54 »
As per the primary developer, Armagan: This is will be the last beta release of the game.

Shame they couldn't add a few more things and hopefully they've stabilized the code better.

Hah, and I hardly played the last version. I ran around and hired all the heroes (something like 10 of them? no more limit?) and equipped them, and didn't have time for much more. :)

Cool, I'll have to check it out.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed in the last release because they had nerf'd the army
sizes so much. At day +175 the largest AI army was only 120 where I could have an
army of 160...Definitely unchallenging.

I liked in .950 when there were 700+ armies running around. It gave you a proper sense of worth and the feeling that you were running a company of free mercenaries. I especially liked the rebellions in .950 with the huge armies. It felt so good when you a convinced a lord with an army of over 300 men to join your case. It also felt epic to defend castles against parties with 500+ men attacking. The stacks of dead bodies that would gather at the place where the ladder was mounted on the wall, the many men that would fall in defence of the castle and...those f***ing archers that stood outside the walls and shot your surviving men to death as they were trying to grapple with the concept of sallying forth from the castle.

But I digress. I eagerly expect version 1.0 and all the mods that will issue along with, like TLD or Raz's Holy War mod. :)
