The Temple Church London.
« on: 2011-10-30, 23:05:59 »
Lady Joanne and I have recently returned from a trip to London, where we just had to visit the Temple Church, mentioned in Dan Brown`s "The Da Vinci Code", and resting place for the Marshals.
Rather than me tell you the history, here is Wikipedia`s version;

And there are a few photographs of our visit on our photo bucket page here;

Excellent pictures! Thank you for posting them! I actually got chills just looking at the effigy of our Order's namesake!
I couldn't imagine what it would feel like to actually have been there.  :)

I imagine it would have been a mix of awe and unworthiness 8)

It truly was quite a moving and humbling experience. I have seen pictures and photographs of these effegies, but to see them in person, in the serene surroundings that were origionaly designed and built by the Templars was fantastic if not a little surreal.
I was more than happy to share this with you.

That's a lot of history in a small place. You're lucky to have such fantastic sites to visit relatively nearby. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

I look forward to my own visit to the Temple Church, and other areas...thanks for sharing, Sir Gerard.  I know it was awe-inspiring to look upon his tomb.
