Of all time? Captain America- even though I didn't have a large number of his comics (most of my collection were X-Men, Spidey, some Avengers, anything Punisher I could get my hands on and of course, Daredevil - anyone seen the show? Was AWESOME but I digress), I had a lot of respect for someone so upstanding as Cap. I also like that he's quite possibly the greatest hand to hand combatant in the MU, which affords him the ability to go toe to toe with much stronger and larger opponents and still- well, at least he doesn't get killed as a result. I was shocked that they killed him off- I think I took Superman's death much better than I did Cap's. So...in order:
1. Captain America
2. Spiderman
3. Wolverine
4. Daredevil
5. Punisher
Thor and Hulk are up there near the top- Thor, well, he's an Asgardian, how cool is that? And Hulk...I had rage issues as a child, I get them. I wasn't really a fan of Iron Man til the movies; to me he seemed less interesting outside of the armor. RDJ changed that for me.
Now, heroes from any comic universe, then Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman would be in there somewhere in the top 20...but below the Marvel characters. MU always seemed more realistic, despite the fantastic powers most of them have; they were always set in a place that I knew or could look up. Not so with DC. Also, their explanations as to how these powers were acquired, powered or used always seemed to be lesser than the pretty well thought out origin stories for the major MU characters.
