« on: 2014-02-24, 00:51:39 »
Well Im buying a Full round ring riveted mail, long sleeve 9mm hauberk from Allbeststuff.com
Ive been Eyeing it and have made the decision to purchase it.
It comes out at $302.55, and there are some good reviews of it. For the price and quality I find it extremely worth it.

$300!   :o

Please be sure to write a review once you receive it.  My goodness, I paid that for a butted mail hauberk years ago.

Are you going to be fighting in the great helm? If so I recommend Clang or some other armorers for some tougher stuff only slightly more expensive.

That looks like a loose rendition of a Pembridge...good deal on the maille but if you're looking to be historical, that helm's a little late for you, Nate.

I think I paid about the same (or more) back in the mid/late 90s for butted mail, too. Craziness!

You can tell Nitin to taper the sleeves for you, if you want. I got an 8mm 17 gauge hauberk from him with alternating flat punched and round rings and tapered sleeves.

I had to trim the sleeves on this one by a bit because of their length. Might make mittens out of that extra maille.

Careful, don't just buy what you want, or you may regret it later when you find another thing you want. Spend wisely. Plus that is a mid 14th century helm you picked out.

Good idea, Do I just call and ask to have it tailored before or after I order?

I asked him before I ordered, and he told me that I should just include it in my order notes.

Do I include nay size measurements? or do I just request it be tailored so there is no sag, or for an incline?

I just asked him to taper the sleeves to a certain diameter on mine. You could probably ask him for more specific tailoring, though.
