Hmm, they do look promising. Do you think you'll be able to make it to MASHS this Sunday?
We can give them a go then.  :)

I'm afraid not. I'm on the hook for the pager at work, so I need to stick close.

Well, I'm selling this pair to Jess, and ordered myself a set in size L. I think the length of it will fit my hand better, and get the wrist motion to be in the right place.

Jess is nearby, right? I'd like to give a quick try-on to see which size fits me better, if I can try on your L and they are too L for me.

Well I just might have to seriously look into these sooner than later since during yesterday's training session, on my last duel of course, I took another direct hit to my already injured and nail-less thumb.  :(

The hit was pretty hard and I suspect the blade had gone between the protective padding on my thumb. The force of the hit actually split my skin in three places on the side of my thumb and it's still seeping blood twelve hours later. :P

Anyways I'll still be good for Friday night's exhibition, I'll just ask that you refrain from targeting my right hand if at all possible Sir Edward!  :-\

Yeah, these hits can happen way too often. Granted, there are folks who would say you need to stop parrying with your hands, which is true of all of us of course. :)

AF ships these pretty quickly, so I suspect my size-L set will be here this week, and you can take a look at them on Friday if you like. My size-M set is sold to Jess, and I'll be handing it off to her this week.

My apologies for your thumb, Sir Brian. :( My congrats on your good hit, Sir Edward. :)

Oh Sir Edward didn't do that damage to me Lord_Dane. That hit belongs to another fellow MASHS student of mine. ;)

Yeah, to date I think the worst I've done to people is some bruising. I try pretty hard to get good hits without hurting anyone.

That is why I want some of those stealth gauntlets based upon the wisby find that the dud is selling for $450 over on the archive.

Well, I still haven't fully tried these out yet, since at our demo on Friday, I didn't want to be experimenting with new gear in front of an audience. But with the larger size gloves, I was able to fit leather gloves inside without any trouble.

From handling them a little, it looks like the clamshell can get caught on the crossguard, particularly when transitioning in and out of the "thumb grip" and rolling the sword in your hand. It looks like the best way to avoid this is to slide your hand back a little and hold it closer to the center of the grip than you're used to, by maybe an inch.
