Roman Days 9-10 June 2012 at Riversdale Mansion

so the wife wants to go see her mom next weekend. I am gonna try to make Roman Days 2012 in Riversdale, MD on Saturday. Anyone wanna come check it out? I haven't been able to go since 2007.

Roman Days is the Twentieth Legion's annual Big Event, to which all other Romans and other interested parties are invited.  It is open to the public, and we get hundreds of enthusiastic visitors.   This year the location will be Riversdale Mansion, 4811 Riverdale Rd, Riverdale, MD 20737, http://www.riversdale.org/   The date is June 9-10, 2012, and public hours will be 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and 12 to 4 on Sunday.  Admission for the public is $5 for adults and $3 for students.  There is no charge for participants, though vendors are asked to make a donation if they have a decent weekend.

Geez, that's like 15 minutes from me and I've never heard of it!  Since Nathan's going to be at the demo that weekend you guys don't need me there.  Not that you did to begin with, I was almost no help at all.

Sir Wolf, are you going dressed as a Roman?

You were helpful, don't worry about that. We had the talking parts covered, but it's hard to do that AND be fighting AND work the score-cards. Having a few extra hands helps a lot!

Sir Edward...any chance we might be able to put a demo on at MDRF?  Thanks for that, by the way- but you and Sir Brian handled all the hard stuff!  I hate that I still lock up at the idea of talking in public.

I ask about the MDRF because if so, I'd like to take a turn or two.

what? ugggg totally forgot about the second week date. sigh. only reason I might actually get to go is cause this is only like 30 min from my mo in law's house.

I was quite happy to have you there. I apologize for not having much energy or time to run through things before we were in front of the crowd. I still get nervous and end up out of order a bit.

I'm getting ahead of myself though...as we're leaving town next week to attend my nephew's graduation, my hope is to come back Saturday night so I can attend either VARF or this Roman days on Sunday.

Congratulations Sir William concerning the graduation but it is understandable.  I think everyone here agrees with that.

Yea, he's a great kid and invited us months ago; I'm not so good with dates when it comes to stuff outside my realm of interest- that sounds horrible but I only mean that I keep that which interests me most in the forefront and everything else that isn't nailed down by rote needs to be set as a reminder.

for me it already does. i have a local ww2 show in Williamsport, MD the same weekend. soooooooooooooooo sigh. it all depends on money in the fall. if i can afford the trip i'll goto dotk if i can't i'll go to williamsport.
