Fighting with the German Longsword
« on: 2008-02-23, 16:02:02 »

I'm going to plug another book from Christian Tobler. Fighting with the German Longsword is a manual that demonstrates a wide range of techniques and moves from the German arts with the longsword. It does so pictorially and with a lot of great accompanying text. My only criticism is that the photos needed more contrast (they all look dark). :)

I hope that thread necromancy this deep is OK, but I was finally able to pick up a "guilt-free" used copy of this book!  I can’t wait to get home and read it.

Quote from: Rodney on the AA forum
I was contacted via PM by Dietrich von Stroheim who happened to have a used copy of Fighting with the German Longsword for sale.

During the process of finding a fair price, we agreed upon a solution offered by Greg Mele in the “Brian Price thread”. I would send payment for the book + shipping to Dietrich AND make a donation to The Wounded Warrior Project. I sent payment and my donation confirmation to Dietrich over the weekend.

A USPS Media Mail envelope arrived this morning, less than 4 business days from our agreement! Within the envelope was the book carefully encased in bubble wrap. The book was in great used condition; I can’t wait to get home and do some reading!

Thank you Dietrich von Stroheim!

Yep, resurrect away. I love seeing old threads brought back to life. It keeps us from repeating ourselves. :)
