Heh, we used to have threads like this all the time. It's been a while, so it's refreshing to start up some new discussions along these lines.

If we go with a very broad list of virtues (as opposed to one of the "codified" ones out there), I'd say my biggest weakness is Perseverance. I have a bad habit of getting 90% of the way through something (hobby projects, home improvement, whatever), and then grinding to a halt. It's easy to get burnt out on something, but often it also comes down to other things, perhaps of much higher importance, coming along and demanding my time. Once the momentum is lost, it is difficult to regain.

LOL

Heh I'd probably cast my vote for Perseverance, too, but I also tend to be a terrible procrastinator, so I'll do it tomorrow.

Seriously, though, I am awful with procrastination. I don't know what virtue that would align with, but there you go.

I'm probably the biggest procrastinator here so perseverance, definitely.

Strength.  There are times when the Code weighs so heavy I just want to just shrug it off and skulk away from the fight.  At the end of those days I have to ask myself,  "Are you a knight, or a just guy in a costume?"  Sometimes I don't like my answer.

Courtesy is the one I struggle with most.

Aside from my disorder, aside from my habit of playing politics with a sledgehammer, and aside from my issue with an SCA principality-level award called La Courtecia, there is just me.

Too often I find courtesy hides truth, right, and justice. I find that an overabundance leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I have also been often told "Thorsteinn, you're a good man, not a nice man, but a good one."

this is a hard one. cause i can truely look at myself and have issue with each one. but it is something to remember to aspire to, not to be used as a judgement against yourself. if you fall off the horse, dust yourself off and get back on. thus why old men are considered wise and leathered, they have been in the elements more than we have yet and know which virtue to use when :)

The knightly virtue that struggle with most is faith. Though I have gotten better at it, I have been cheated, lied to, and betrayed numerous times over the course of my life, even by those I dearly trusted.  As a result, I have a hard time putting my faith into people. I am working on it though.
Some say that the age of chivalry is past, that the spirit of romance is dead. The age of chivalry is never past, so long as there is a wrong left unredressed on earth.
