Besagues.

Hello, does anyone here have experience with besagues? I have none.
Are they comfortable? don't inhibit motion? don't get awkward?
Any experience w/ the MercTailor Besagues in particular?

BTW, the MT besagues have the leather tab option (for pointing) or buckling to the spaulder. Which would be more funtional?

i have never worn them with any of my kits... yet. they should be aloud to move a tad but still stay in 1 place. it's hard to show but the placement should not hinder your arm movement or get stuck under any armour, so check your placement and size.  I am sure Allan can help you out at MT with all of these questions.  and when you find them out let us know hehehehe

Seeing as you wear a jack anyways, I'd go with the tab option...buckling just to the spaudler means it could move around more than you want it to.  I have the MT gorget and spaulders...for my part I'm glad that I opted to have the eyelet holes punched in as well as the buckles...those things need to have more than one point of stability.  If I used just the buckles then they'll swing back and forth, much to my annoyance. lol

I have to agree with Paladin that these really need to be fixed at more than one point for them to function properly. I point them to the spaulder points on my arming jack, then also point them loosely to the lower part of the spaulder. This affords some adjustment but also stops them flailing around and keeps them roughly where they are meant to be.
The ones you have linked to have a much thicker leather strap than mine so this may make them more rigid.

I point mine to my hauberk at or near the neckline in addition to the straps; makes a world of difference, it does.

Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna go with the besagues, they're one of those things that you just don't see enough people sporting today.
Haha, and I have a plan to give mine a little "pop"

Good choice! I bought a pair of MT's besagues when I purchased my new shield and plan on incorporating them into my improved harness for next year!
