Yeah, I had already ordered the newer armor I needed, except I still needed some gauntlets, so I've ordered those as well now. I really don't want to see merc's tailor go under. There are so few customer-oriented armorers out there, and Allan is very devoted to his customers. It would be tragic to see it fall apart.
If everyone moves up their timetable for ordering armor, maybe it'll help Allan to stick it out a little longer, and maybe find some other work to do and keep armoring on the side until the economy picks up.
Small businesses are definitely feeling the squeeze, and part of the problem is that armor is such a niche product, and technically it's a luxury. It's one of the first things people will stop buying when money is tight. But that's part of the reason I'm still working on my kits and swords, even with a wedding to plan.
Gotta do my part to support the industry that supports my hobbies.
