PA Ren Faire
« on: 2010-08-19, 00:15:56 »
Greetings to all honored knights, Last week started the PA Ren Faire and I thought it would be good to start posting weekends any of us may be there.

For myself I plan on being at the Faire on 21/22 and 28/29 I don't know about being in Harness as yet, although this weekend looks promising. The 28/29 is Pirate weekend and I won't be in harness as my Lady likes to go in Pirate Garb...

After that It will be a mix of Maryland and Pa through the season. Hope to see you there!

I'm there most weekends, this weekend I'm working Sat. but hope to get there in the early afternoon so I may help the trayned band do pike drill. They are short some people this weekend and since I am trained in pike (along with musket and cannon) they said they might be able to use my help. I'll definitely be there Sun. Mostly this season will see me in my light kit, although when I travel down to MdRF Labor day weekend, I may put on the brigandine and kilt again. That got rave reviews so I may do it again.

I’ll be there Sunday but I won’t be in armor. The weather looks like it is going to be the same as last Sunday so Rosemary and I will be in our “wet weather” garb, i.e. Pirates.  ;)

I’m not sure if we’ll make any other weekends to PARF since MDRF will start the end of the month, but we will have to wait see what happens.  :-\

Not sure if we'll make it up there this season or not either. This coming weekend we have a wedding to attend, and then right after that MDRF opens. I know we'll be taking a weekend to go up to the Pittsburgh faire later in September (as guest cast). Haven't figured out the rest yet!

It's maybe an hour or so north of Baltimore? I think? Maybe 2 hours from MDRF.

I live in York, Pa and it is about an hour and 15 minutes for me to MdRF. It is about an hour for me to PaRF. I would say that from the parking lot at MdRF to the parking lot at PaRF you are looking at about 2 hours, depending on how much traffic you run into and how fast you drive on the highway. As a point of reference, I don't go over 75 but keep it over 65 unless traffic slows me down.
