First market of the year was fun...
« on: 2016-05-19, 11:16:22 »
Well, the first market of the year is done, and it was a lot of fun.... Except for the weather. Windy, cold, and quite a lot of rain. At night it was around zero degrees...
We were lucky that the last day was windy, somewhat warm, and with a fair amount of sun. That meant that we could pack dry tents.

Here are some random pics from the first medieval market of the year, Copenhagen Medieval Market, called KMM....

Arrived, and unloading the cars....

Allmost finished the set up.... This is my tent.

Our camp is coming along. Our own little private fighting arena in the middle of our camp

My tent on the left, then Sir Laurentius, the small round tent is one of our squires, and the yellow and black is Sir Smith

The interior in my tent

Sir Laurentius and Claus the Templar

We played some games with the guests on the market, they loved it. Here Sir Romer and Sir Smith against a group of children. Photo by: Ditte Broens

Yours truly enjoying a quiet moment, in front of my tent. Photo by: Ditte Broens

Claus the Templar, gets a drink of water. Photo by: Ditte Broens

Yours truly on the left, fighting Sir Smith. Due to problems with the leather straps on parts of my armour, I went old school... Gambeson and chainmail... Thats it...

So all in all we had a great first market of the season, allthough we hope for some better weather next time  ;D ;D

Now you're making me want to ask my wife if Copenhagen could be added to her list of places she wants to work.

Awesome! It does look like a lot of fun! A much different type of fair than what we have in the USA. Ours are more of a "Walt Disney meets Van Wilder at a strip club while on LSD" genre." ;)

Yeah this looks very cool, Their are only a handful of re-enactment places here like yours.

Its not totally horrible, though.  Not the Van Wilde or strip club bits.  Don't recall the LSD though...I would've remembered seeing that.  ;)

Well, thanks Gents....
Im not sure what to think about Sir Brians description  ;D ;D

Well, we have a lot of history, and we aim toward a high degree og historical correctness (is that even a word?) on our medieval fairs...
As mentioned before, fellow knights are allways welcome over here, for a nice vaacation and a market or two  :)
