Greetings, fellow knights and knightly enthusiasts! My name is Dustin and I am from Salem, Oregon in the great Pacific Northwest. I'll be turning 32 towards the end of this month and have been interested in knights and medieval life since as long as I can remember. My first experience of dressing as a knight came in 2004 when a friend of mine and I decided to throw a medieval themed Halloween party. Naturally, I decided that if I was going to dress as a knight then I had to do it right and ordered my first mail hauberk. I made a surcoat to wear (made to look like the Ibelin tunic from Kingdom of Heaven) and purchased the sword of Tiberias from the KOH collection and made quite the impression as most of the party goers thought I went a little overboard on the costume. But it was that night that I realized that this wasn't going to be just a one time costume and decided to work on making a kit that I could be proud of. Skip to years later and I now attend the local faires and festivals as a mid to late 12th century knight.
I'm glad to have found this community and look forward to getting to know all of you worthy knights better over the coming years. Perhaps I will even have a chance to travel around and meet you in person someday in the future.
Thank you for allowing me to become a part of this worthy site.
